Watch: Why John Stamos Turns Down ‘Dancing With the Stars’ “Every Single Season”
Everywhere John Stamos looks, there’s the heart of Full House.
As the actor was honored with the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Bob Saget Legacy Award Oct. 13, he was supported by his former costars from the 1990s sitcom including Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Lori Loughlin.
And while no one will ever know what happened to predictability, the Full House alums are, at least, consistent when it comes to showing love for each other. As Stamos—who starred as heartthrob uncle Jesse Kotsopolis in the beloved series—walked the red carpet, he took time to pose with Cameron Bure, Sweetin and Loughlin.
True to their ‘90s roots, Cameron Bure opted for a plaid set reminiscent of her character DJ Tanner’s style. Meanwhile, Sweetin proved she’s still as sweet as her character Stephanie Tanner, sporting a pink satin dress and a bead necklace.
Loughlin, for her part, complimented her on-screen husband—she played Jesse’s wife Becky Kotsopolis in the series—in a blue, sheer dress with gold detailing, while Stamos wore a classic black suit.
Meanwhile, Stamos’ support from another costar will have you saying, “have mercy.” Dave Coulier—who played best friend Joey Gladstone to Stamos’ Jesse and Bob Saget’s Danny Tanner—also phoned in to show support for his longtime pal.
“I want to congratulate you, John, on receiving the Bob Saget Legacy Award,” Coulier said in a video message shared at the Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine event. “You and Bob have always been like beautiful sisters to me, and I love you very much.”
The comments obviously had Stamos and the entire crowd saying, “Cut. It. Out,” but the most sentimental part of the evening for the “Forever” singer was, of course, receiving the honor named for his late friend Saget.

“People talk about, you know, missing someone,” Stamos told People during the event, “but we never talk about really what they’ve left behind. Bob left this behind. Sure, there’s television, sitcoms and reruns and whatever. But this is a legacy. This is something to leave behind. And I just want to really acknowledge that.”
Naturally, when it came to Stamos continuing the legacy that his late friend started to honor his sister Gay Saget, who died from scleroderma in 1994, it was easy for him to say, “You got it, dude.”
“Bob’s sister got scleroderma, which he spent the rest of his life advocating and raising money for this horrific disease,” Stamos added. “Bob, we just ended up being best friends. And then we were just there for each other through all the ups and downs of life — divorces and marriages. But I just loved him so dearly.”
