Well, part of it at least
When Resident Evil Requiem launched to critical acclaim and became the fastest-selling entry in the franchise, director Koshi Nakanishi revealed that work would continue and that it would receive a DLC expansion in the future.
Now, thanks to an interview with Requiem’s writer Haris Orkin, we have a vague idea of what it might be about. Part of it, at least. Just be aware that the following information will contain spoilers for Requiem’s main campaign, so if you’ve yet to play it and are keen to remain spoiler-free, get outta here.
Speaking with Distance NERDing at the Meadowlark Comic Con, Orkin revealed that the DLC would further explore Oswell E. Spencer’s story arc.

“We have an arc for Spencer in Requiem, you understand that more. And then the DLC, you’ll understand it even further. I probably shouldn’t say that, but yeah.”
Spencer has a long history with Resident Evil, serving as the founder and CEO of Umbrella, which he used as a facade to experiment with the Progenitor Virus.
Requiem threw a bit of a spanner into the works by revealing that protagonist Grace Ashcroft is Spencer’s adopted daughter. Not only that, but it’s revealed that the game’s virus, Elpis, is actually an anti-virus designed to eliminate all strains of bioweapons, including T-Virus and G-Virus. Spencer supposedly created it to atone for his past sins.
A lot of folks took issue with Spencer’s portrayal in Requiem given his previous desire to remake the world in his vision and to gain immortality. Indeed, it goes directly against some pretty important scenes featured in Resident Evil 5. Some believe that there’s more to the story, however, and it seems that this is what the upcoming DLC will address.
There’s no word on when it will launch, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear more.
