If you’re a PS Plus subscriber, you’ll be able to claim a set of free Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars starting next week, from 6th October.

To mark the digital release of the record-breaking movie in the Sony Pictures Core app, subscribers will be able to claim six PSN profile icons, including Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Zendaya’s MJ Watson.

Members will have to boot up the Sony Pictures Core app and follow the steps inside to claim the avatars for free; non-members can still get them, but will need to purchase the digital version of the record-breaking movie to get them.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day broke domestic Box Office records earlier this year, becoming the highest-grossing US release of all time. Internationally, it’s a whisker away from taking $2.5 billion, making it the third most successful movie ever made.

I personally don’t think these avatars are great, but they’re not the worst set I’ve ever seen. That said, I don’t think I’d equip any of them on my profile. (I’d definitely recommend the Marvel Tokon ones if you want to give your account a superhero flavour.)

Remember, next week will also bring a selection of new PS Plus Essential games, including F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896. You can find out more about the lineup through here.
