The “Definitive Version” arrives this September

In some very exciting news, it’s been announced The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered is on its way to the Switch 2 this September.
Some additional details about the Nintendo version have been shared via an eShop description. According to the official store listing, if you own the game on the original Switch, you’ll be able to claim the remaster for free!

If you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch, you’ll be able to claim The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered for free on Nintendo Switch 2 once released!
Please note that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is a separate download on Nintendo Switch 2, and when downloaded will be visible as a separate icon on your Home menu.

CD Projekt Red’s Michal Nowakowski has also confirmed this free upgrade will apply to physical copies of the game.
The Witcher 3 remaster comes loaded with visual improvements, as well as enhancements to the gameplay. You can find out more in the announcement post, including a look at the new expansion, which has also been confirmed for the Switch 2.
