We’ve now done two posts full of tributes to Benjamin “PAC” Satterley after his tragic death Sunday afternoon (Sept. 27) in Illinois, but I didn’t include these because they felt deserving of their own spotlight.
She wrestles on occasion, but that’s not former MMA fighter Marina Shafir’s gift as a pro wrestler. It took her allegiance with Jon Moxley and Death Riders to unlock it, but Shafir is a PRESENCE. That’s why she not only accompanied Mox, PAC, and Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta to their matches at AEW All Out Saturday night, she played a role in each of them too.
The emergence of Marina as The Problem has been great for Death Riders, and not bad for her career, either. It’s why she was booked for Warrior Wrestling’s show in Milwaukee last night, which was going on as the news about Satterley hit. It led to a (for lack of a better term) “promo” that’s been making the rounds. It’s not an easy watch, but nothing’s driven home how loved PAC was more.
“I was just holding this man yesterday… Wrestling will drive you to places in your mind… He was the best. He was the fucking best, you know why? ‘Cause he knew himself… He was just so modest about how fascinating he was, and… I don’t know how to be, or say thank you… He was the light of us.”
She also asks that we do what many of us are thinking today after PAC’s death:
“Please tell the people you love in your life that you love them. I am just very happy that I got to tell him that I loved him yesterday…”
So remember to appreciate everything today. We don’t want to piss The Problem off.
