Happy Mask Hour

We love a good themed recipe book, and A Drink to the Past looks like it could be a great addition to your kitchen shelf or cupboard.
Created by Aaron Sensebé, the book is currently live on Kickstarter with 15 days to go until the campaign ends. Funding is currently sitting at $3,516 against its $10,000 goal with a total of 50 backers so far. Now, we don’t normally showcase every Kickstarter campaign willy-nilly, but this one looks really cool and could potentially be worth your time and money.
Essentially, it’s a recipe book full of cocktails and mocktails inspired by the characters, locations, and small details found within the Zelda franchise. Sensebé began experimenting with cocktail recipes during the Covid 19 pandemic, and this quickly evolved into an all-consuming hobby. Eventually, he asked himself what drinks based on Zelda might actually look like.
“I never wanted this book to feel like a collection of surface-level references — something as simple as placing a blue potion bottle in a photograph because there happens to be one in the game. The visual aesthetic was always important to me, but so was making sure each drink felt genuinely connected to the world, characters, locations, items, and moments that inspired it.”
There are three options available for potential backers: a PDF copy of the book at $20 (about £15), a proper hardback book at $42 (about £31), and finally a deluxe edition with a leatherette cover and gold-gilded page edges at $69 (about £51). Alternatively, you can go for a bundle of all three for $118 (about £87), if you wish.
Photos contained within the Kickstarter are prototypes, so the final design of the book may include some changes and refinements. Delivery for backers (pending a successful campaign) is currently scheduled for November 2026.
