Official Trailer for Horror Film ‘The Living Tree’ – AI Treehouse Thriller​

“Promise me you will not let them get in your head!” Buffalo 8 has debuted the official trailer for an indie horror creation called The Living Tree, the latest “what if AI was evil” tech horror movie to watch. Or to skip. This is heading direct-to-VOD and it doesn’t look like there’s much here to get excited about – even the evil AI looks pretty boring. The Living Tree is a sci-fi horror film in which a newly married couple’s secluded vacation becomes part of a disturbing artificial intelligence experiment. On their honeymoon in a treehouse, Noah and Annabelle ignore a local’s warning. They’re soon pulled into a AI-run experiment by a tech giant. As the challenges escalate, secrets emerge—and survival becomes the only thing that matters. Starring Brey Noelle & Anthony J. James (they also wrote the screenplay together and made this film), with Paige E. Parnell & Sean Michael Gloria. If you’re curious to find out if they survive, this is already on VOD now.

Noah and Annabelle travel to a remote treehouse for their honeymoon, where a local warns them to leave. They ignore the warning. Soon, the couple is pulled into a strange AI-driven experiment controlled by a powerful technology company. As a series of increasingly dangerous challenges unfolds, secrets begin to surface and the couple’s relationship is pushed to its limits. What started as a romantic escape becomes a fight for survival in a game they never agreed to play. The Living Tree is directed by the American actor / filmmaker Anthony J. James, director of the movie Within the Groves previously, and many other short films. The screenplay is written by actors Brey Noelle & Anthony J. James. Produced by Anthony J. James, Taylor Morgan, Brey Noelle, Michael Osowski, Kenn Taylor. This hasn’t premiered at any fests or elsewhere, as far as we know. Buffalo 8 releases The Living Tree film direct-to-VOD starting September 25th, 2026.
