“Some stories never leave us.” Cineverse has revealed a new trailer for the 20th Anniversary re-release of Guillermo del Toro’s celebrated, Academy Award-winning classic Pan’s Labyrinth. The film recently had a new jubilee premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival this year after initially debuting in Cannes back in 2006 – exactly 20 years ago. It’s also hitting theaters again in the fall – in 4K, 3D, and also premium HDR by Barco. Del Toro’s sixth film at the time, Pan’s Labyrinth won 3 Oscars, including for Best Makeup, Best Cinematography, and Best Art Direction. Obviously deserving of all of these. Each version for this re-release has been overseen by Guillermo del Toro. Set in 1944 Francoist Spain after their Civil War, an imaginative young girl meets a Faun in the forest who tells her she’s a princess and that she must prove her worthiness by completing three dangerous tasks. Starring Ivana Baquero as Ofelia, Sergi López, Maribel Verdú, Doug Jones as the Faun and the Pale Man, Ariadna Gil, and Álex Angulo. It’s getting a full relaunch in theaters this October, especially unique showing it so many formats. Guillermo also commissioned a brand new poster with artwork by James Jean – also added below. Pan’s Labyrinth is considered one of del Toro’s masterpieces that might just be his finest creation. This is an obvious must watch when it’s playing this fall.
Here’s the new 20th Anniversary trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s film Pan’s Labyrinth, on YouTube:

The film takes place in 1944, in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War. Young Ofelia and her pregnant mother have been brought to live in the countryside, where her brutal stepfather Captain Vidal’s job is to wipe out the remaining rebels camped in the local forest. Nearby, in a hidden labyrinth, Ofelia meets an ageless Faun, who tells her that she is really a princess from an enchanted world. He gives her three tasks which she must complete in order to reclaim her rightful place. As her mother’s failing health threatens the life of her unborn child, Ofelia undertakes a quest to finish the Faun’s tasks. Pan’s Labyrinth, also known as El laberinto del fauno in Spanish, is written & directed by maestro Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, his sixth film at the time inbetween making Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) after. Produced by Guillermo del Toro, Bertha Navarro, Alfonso Cuarón, Frida Torresblanco, and Álvaro Augustin. The film originally premiered at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival before going on to win 3 Oscars that year. It first opened in theaters in December 2006. Cineverse will re-release del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth again in select US theaters starting on October 9th, 2026 in the fall. For more info, visit their official site.
