Leon Slater gets second chance to make TNA history, this time with world title on the line at Bound for Glory

Leon Slater has the opportunity of a lifetime on Sunday as he steps into the ring at Bound for Glory to take on Nic Nemeth with the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) World Championship on the line.

Bound for Glory is TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year. It’s where legendary moments that have built the foundation for the promotion have occurred and a place where wrestlers like Slater can write their own legacy.

Slater has eyes on Nemeth’s prize and if he wins, he would become the youngest TNA world champion ever at the age of 22. The British superstar addressed Nemeth on Thursday night’s “Impact” and vowed to accomplish his goal. Director of Authority Santino Marella stipulated that neither competitor could put their hands on each other before their match.

“Nic, let’s get one thing clear – that rule isn’t saving me. That rule is saving you,” Slater said, “Because in a couple of days at Bound for Glory, when I finally get to beat your a— and take that title, you are going to realize exactly why they call me ‘The Youngest In Charge.’ “

Slater has been TNA’s most prolific rising star in recent memory. He joined the company in 2023 and won the X Division Championship in May 2025. He nearly set the TNA record for longest-reigning X Division champion but Cedric Alexander spoiled his shot at history this past May.

Slater became a two-time X Division champion at Slammiversary, defeating Alexander in a Last Man Standing Match inside of a steel cage. But his reign lasted for just a few hours.

Later that night, Slater addressed Nemeth and told him he would be cashing in Option C. The decision allowed Slater to trade his X Division Championship in for a shot at the world title. The match was then set for Bound for Glory.

Slater has a chance to etch his name alongside TNA Wrestling legends like Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Moose and Jeff Hardy. But getting past Nemeth isn’t going to be easy.

Nemeth is in the middle of his second reign. He defeated Mike Santana for the title at Slammiversary. He earned the chance after winning the Call Your Shot Gauntlet – a match that is also taking place at Bound for Glory that will see at least one wrestler earn a world title shot down the line.

Now, Nemeth has a shot to play spoiler against Slater.

Bound for Glory is set to take place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The action will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on TNA+.
