“Now, let me tell you a little secret… See, this thing we’ve been called to do is hard. You risk your lives so that others don’t have to.” Burns & Co. has debuted a third official trailer for Jimmy, a new biopic movie about the famous American actor James Stewart – aka Jimmy Stewart – and his toughest years flying planes during WWII before going on to make his magnum opus It’s a Wonderful Life (in 1946). Landing in theaters nationwide starting in November. The pitch: it’s the untold story of America’s most-beloved actor and the iconic role that saved him. KJ Apa stars as Jimmy Stewart in this Jimmy movie, along with Max Casella as Frank Capra, Kara Killmer as Lady Julia, Julian Works, Sarah Drew, Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer of MGM, Rob Riggle, and Daniel Fee. A jingoistic story about a beloved actor? Okay. “Jimmy Stewart was an American Hero. He was among a certain breed of men who understood the true meaning of sacrifice by fighting for our freedom,” KJ Apa explains. This final trailer is focused mostly on his missions as a pilot for the US Air Force during World War II – with a little bit of his movie work at the end.

“Based on the untold true story…” This new film brings to the big screen the most transformative years of iconic actor Jimmy Stewart’s life—from winning the Academy Award for Best Actor in The Philadelphia Story to enlisting & becoming a combat pilot & commander in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the beginning of World War II. Stewart flew 20 missions over Europe, rising to the rank of colonel, only to return home broken and disheartened. And then George Bailey came calling. Jimmy is directed by producer / filmmaker Aaron Burns, director of only the films Legacy Peak and Birthright Outlaw previously. The screenplay is written by Justin Strawhand (also of War Against the Weak). Produced by Aaron Burns, David C. Cook, Angela Galgani Sullivan, John Norton, Justin Strawhand. Burns & Co. / RedTed Media are aiming to release Burns’ Jimmy movie in select US theaters starting November 6th, 2026 this fall. Any good? Still curious?
