Farrah Abraham Is Unable to Speak After Undergoing Major Jaw Surgery

Farrah Abrahamis on the long road to recovery.

A recent double-disc jaw surgery has left the Teen Mom alum unable to speak as she recovers, with her manager revealing she’ll have to consume all of her meals in liquid form through a straw for the next two months.

“Farrah cannot speak because her jaw is wired shut, and her face is extremely swollen,” her manager Chrissy Johnston told the Daily Mail in a statement published Sept. 29. “She is in a severe amount of pain and is really struggling, both physically and mentally.”

As a result of the procedure, which her team said was medically necessary, Abraham has a long incision and stitches along her jaw and neck which extend up across her ears—not to mention severe swelling on her face.

“To make matters worse, she has also lost hearing in her right ear,” Johnston continued. “I hope and pray that her pain eases soon and that her hearing returns to normal over time.”

Still, Abraham has given fans updates on how she is faring.

“I feel like Frankenstein right now,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories, per the Daily Mail. “Praying my face comes back in three months.”

Earlier this year, the 35-year-old—mom to 17-year-old daughter Sophia—detailed the pain she had been experiencing in her face.

“I can’t use my jaw. I can’t open my mouth up normally,” she explained on the Pillow Talk podcast in May. “I would like to just open my mouth for a hotdog, OK?”

Beyond undergoing surgery to fix a chronic issue, Abraham has also been open about embracing herself during this most recent chapter, following years of detailing cosmetic procedures like breast augmentations, a nose job, a chin implant and more.

“I actually have no Botox, no filler, nothing in my lips. My face is just however my face is and my body,” Abraham told Us Weekly in September 2025. “I actually love who I am at 34 but it has taken such a long way to get here to just be like, ‘Hey, this is plain Farrah, love that skin you’re in.’”
