Watch: Chad Lowe and Kim Painter’s Daughter Fiona Dies at 13
Chad Lowe and Kim Painter are mourning a tragic loss.
The Pretty Little Liars alum and Enemy of the State actress shared that their daughter Fiona Harper has died. She was 13.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the couple said in a statement to People published Sept. 29, describing the teen as a “loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”
Lowe and Painter—who also share daughters Mabel Painter, 17, and Nixie Barbara, 10—went on to express that Fiona had a special bond with her entire family.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” their statement continued. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
Noting that Fiona’s passing was “devastating” and asking “for prayers and privacy at this time,” Lowe and Painter added, “If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
One year before her passing, Lowe–who is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe—celebrated one of Fiona’s major milestones.
“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” the 58-year-old captioned a November 2025 Instagram. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

Alongside the sweet message, he also shared a solo shot of her leaning against the wood railing of a bridge while wearing a white shirt, shorts and cowboy boots.

And that’s not the only time Lowe has publicly paid tribute to his kids. Back in February 2025, he also shouted out his girls for staying strong amid the loss of their family home to the Pacific Palisades Fire.
“The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable,” the Life Goes On actor wrong on Instagram at the time. “I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”
