Full Official Trailer for Peter Berg’s ‘The Mosquito Bowl’ WWII Movie

The Mosquito Bowl Trailer

“Keep your head down, feet moving. “ 🏈 Netflix debuted their full official trailer for WWII action thriller The Mosquito Bowl, that’s also about American Football in the 1940s. Aiming for release in November at Thanksgiving this fall on Netflix, along with a theatrical run just before. The latest action movie directed by Peter Berg after his American Primeval series. Based on a remarkable true story (covered in this book), after the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America’s top college football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the US Marines. As the nation geared up for total war, one branch of the service dominated the aspirations of college football stars: the United States Marine Corps. Which is why, on Christmas Eve of 1944, when the 4th and 29th Marine regiments found themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean training for what would ultimately be the bloodiest battle of the war ― the invasion of Okinawa ― their ranks included one of the greatest pools of football talent ever assembled: Former All Americans, captains from Wisconsin, Brown & Notre Dame, and many others. Featuring Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Brent Comer, Dominic Bogart. A much better trailer than the first one, showing how intense and gritty this movie will be – apparently it’s not just about that one football game on Okinawa. Take a look.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Peter Berg’s WWII film The Mosquito Bowl, from YouTube:

“This is a film about young men who were sports heroes at home and became war heroes on the shores of the Pacific… The Mosquito Bowl honors the humanity of those who fought, mourns those who never came home, and reminds us of the true cost of war.” –Director Peter Berg

“Trained for glory. Called to war.” Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America’s top College Football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the Marines to fight during World War II. As they prepare for the brutal invasion of Okinawa, they’ll play in a legendary game featuring some of the greatest players in history – a game that, for many, will be the last they ever play. The Mosquito Bowl is directed by the American filmmaker Peter Berg, director of many big movies such as The Rundown, Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom, Hancock, Battleship, Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, Mile 22, Spenser Confidential, American Primeval, and episodes of “Boys in Blue” & “Painkiller” series. The screenplay is written by Peter Berg and Mark L. Smith. Adapted from the book “The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II” written by Buzz Bissinger. It’s produced by Peter Berg for Film 44, Brian Grazer for Imagine Entertainment, Alex Gayner. Netflix releases Berg’s The Mosquito Bowl movie playing in select US theaters on October 30th, 2026, then streaming on Netflix starting November 25th this Thanksgiving.
