Nintendo has today launched its next free Game Trial for Switch Online members in North America, and it’s a doozy.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure (the Switch 1 version) is the latest game in the offer, available at no extra cost to all those with an active NSO membership from today (9th October at 10am PT) until 15th October at 11:59pm PT.

As ever, you’ll have the entire game at your disposal during this time, and all save data will carry over to any future saves if you like what you see and want to pick it up once the free period ends. What’s more, the game is currently subject to a tasty 45% discount on the eShop (until 18th Oct), so you can buy it at a reduced price if you want to keep playing.

The best part about all this is that Island Adventure is great. There’s a heavy dose of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in its social sim aspects, and an unexpected pinch of Breath of the Wild in its stamina-wheel exploration.

“Hello Kitty Island Adventure proves an innovative entry into the social sim genre,” we said in our 8/10 review. “While borrowing from multiple powerhouse games, it brings a fresh experience that is likely to subvert the expectations of any Animal Crossing expats looking for their next cosy fix.”
