“Trees listen to the birds’ songs, too, you know.” This is stunning. Madman Films has revealed their official trailer for an enchanting new documentary film titled Whispers in the Woods, from French filmmaker / photographer Vincent Munier. He already won the César Award in France before for his previous doc film The Velvet Queen about finding snow leopards in Tibet. This time, celebrated wildlife photographer Vincent Munier embarks on a journey with both his father and also his son into the heart of a forest whose beauty is transcendent. Munier shot every morning and every evening for months near his farm located in the Vosges Mountains, situated in Eastern France. The film was also shot a few other forests to capture this magnificent wilderness all around. A journey of uncommon beauty into the heart of wild forests – capturing their poetic sounds along with all the animals and trees. This premiered at last year’s Zurich and London Film Festivals and has been playing in Europe, finally coming abroad for release in theaters in the US soon. “I want more stories” indeed – this is utterly mesmerizing, absolutely stunning naturalistic filmmaking.
