Money in the Bank is this Saturday night in New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center, bringing us a big night of pro wrestling spectacle, WWE-style. Oct. 10’s premium live event has a lot of big matches on it, including the Ladder Matches which give the show its name.
Our regular motley crew of pro wrestling blowhards will be making predictions about every match on the card, and we’re joined by our first Guest Picker: SBNation’s Matt Warren. When he’s not dreaming about the one, true sport of professional wrestling, you can find Matt slumming it covering some upstart promotion called the National Football League in our NFL Feed. Check it out for some great conversation about this weekend’s games there, and if you are a “sportsball” fan, follow your favorite NFL team(s) while they are there. And with the SBNation app, it’s easy to swipe between communities — from Cageside to and your other teams or sports.
Here, we’ll focus on the battle for a briefcase containing a pick-your-spot shot at one of the main roster top Women’s belts. Friday, we’ll do the same for the Men’s Money in the Bank match. We’ll be digging into the World Heavyweight, Women’s World title and other matches on Saturday, along with our picks for those. But we wanted to spend more time gabbing with y’all about those Ladder Matches, seeing as they’re what led to the creation of this event — and pushed it to “Big 4/5” status.
Let’s get to it.
PREDICTIONS FOR THE 2026 WOMEN’S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Lash Legend vs. Tiffany Stratton
Who claims the case?
Geno Mrosko: It’s exciting that we finally have a match where a clear cut winner doesn’t exist. The gimmick is played out and it feels like a pair of handcuffs more than a stepping stone to the main event picture but if they do it right, that’s exactly where Roxanne Perez will end up. Just don’t put us through another Tiffany Stratton run with it. She’s great, her first run with it was not. Pick: Roxanne Perez
Sean Rueter: Feels like I’ve been making predictions based on a Judgment Day/Roxanne(!) split for months, maybe years? Well, I’m not doing it any more. I get that others have some trepidation about more Tiffy Time with the briefcase, but hear me out. WWE seems to realize how valuable Chelsea Green is, and a hated rival could be the final piece to launching her to the top levels of crossover fame. The seeds are there for it to be Stratton, she just needs a way to make her betrayal hurt even more. Hello, MitB contract. Pick: Tiffany Stratton
Kyle Decker: This one feels wide open. I don’t think they see it in Ruca yet and Lola is so new. Roxanne loses a ton it seems so I’d be surprised if she holds the main title this year (and let’s be honest, one of these briefcases is going to be cashed in within a few months). This leaves Jacy, Lash, and Stratton. I don’t see the appeal in another Tiffany win. I could see both Jacy and Lash being elevated to the championship this year, but Lash makes the most sense to me as I think Jacy spends more time around the US title scene the next six months. Pick: Lash Legend
Claire Elizabeth: I think I like most of these options? I suffered grievous psychic damage from the interminable NXT Women’s Championship reigns of Jacy Jayne and Roxanne! Perez but the main roster is a fresh start and I would not be filled with dread to see either woman’s hand raised. My first thought is to give it to Sol— she’s the most blatantly aerobatic of these women, after all, but then it hit me like a missed Sol Snatcher that generally speaking the biggest spot doesn’t win these matches and she’s definitely gonna go big while somebody else goes home. No, it’s gonna be somebody who’s got no problems picking the bones… Pick: Roxanne! Perez
Cain A. Knight: Out of all the heels in this match, Roxanne Perez is the one who makes for the best winner. She’s ready for a big push in 2027, and can hold on to that briefcase for a while as her story with the Judgment Day develops from here. Stratton has already been here with the MITB contract, Jayne doesn’t need it right now, and Legend needs to improve some more before she can be a top of the division wrestler. As far as the babyfaces go, Vice is too new to the main roster for this win, and Ruca is still trying to bounce back from her rough stretch after being called up. Pick: Roxanne Perez
Marcus Benjamin: I usually make these picks on who offers the most drama while holding the briefcase. And if we’re talking drama and WWE, then we’re usually talking Judgment Day. This is a messy, messy group who apparently loves being messy. What better way to throw more Real Housewives type drama onto them than putting the briefcase in Roxanne Perez’s hands? Pick: Roxanne Perez
Jon Velez-Jackson: I feel like this could go either way with Roxanne or Tiffany, but my gut instinct is saying Stratton. The seeds have been planted for her to turn heel on Chelsea Green, and her dangling the briefcase around her would be a decent build for their eventual showdown. (If I’m right about this, I really hope WWE doesn’t do the obvious when Tiffy cashes in and instead keeps the belt on the more-deserving Green for a long reign.) Pick: Tiffany Stratton
Josh Jagler: As someone who frequently covers NXT for this fine site, it’s exciting to see all these young ladies who graduated from NXT to the main roster in the last few years competing on this big stage. There are a few intriguing options here, but the one that sticks out to me is Roxanne! Perez. Tiffany is already a former WWE Champion. Jacy is a current United States Champion. Sol and Lash have both been champions already, and Lola hasn’t even been on the main roster for a cup of coffee yet. Process of elimination leaves me with Roxy. Pick: Roxanne! Perez
Matt Warren: I really think this is a two-horse race. Stratton already has a built-in storyline and doesn’t need the briefcase to turn heel on Chelsea Green. In fact, it might be better if she turns heel and the MITB holder uses that heel turn to cash in on their own. Sol Ruca and Lola Vice aren’t yet ready for that push and Jacy Jayne already holds gold. That leaves me with Lash Legend and Roxanne Perez. Legend makes a lot of sense for a push over the next couple months, and I could see her taking the briefcase. But the storyline of Perez chasing the Women’s World Championship only to decide she wants to go after one of her Judgement Day stablemates in the end is a great way to advance that story or she can cash in while Liv Morgan is still chasing Stephanie Vaquer and throw a massive wrench on Raw. Pick: Roxanne Perez
When will they cash in, and on who?
Geno Mrosko: If it’s Perez, I think they can take their time deciding on how to go about it. Either she can cash in on Stephanie Vaquer and create a massive rift with her Judgment Day stablemates, namely Liv Morgan, or she they can book Morgan to win the title back and have Perez turn on her by cashing in on her. Both scenarios are intriguing for their own reasons. I’ll say they go with the former. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer at Survivor Series
Sean Rueter: She’ll hold onto it, but not for too long. Pick: Chelsea Green at the December Saturday Night’s Main Event
Kyle Decker: I think Chelsea is going to lose her title to Tiffany so it would make sense Lash cash in on Raw. I think she’ll cash in within the next six months, so I’m going to say it’ll be against Stephanie Vaquer. I don’t think Stephanie is going to lose the title to Liv or Lynch and things get a bit quiet after WarGames, which is only like six weeks away. The next big show is that first Raw of the year and I say it happens there after Vaquer successfully defends the title against Liv Morgan. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer on the Raw Season Premiere
Claire Elizabeth: Y’know, we haven’t had a same-night cash-in since 2022… And the story is ripe for it, but how? Roxanne! takes a victorious Vaquer or Lynch out? Stephanie has some merit in that it turns her Judgment Day feud on its head, but Becky feels like way too much of a tangent. Aha, but the tasty sauce is Liv… the proverbial western front has been quiet lately, but it’s Judgment Day, everybody is always on the verge of stabbing everybody else in the back and leaving/kicking them out! But… I hate the implied Liv Morgan victory too much, so let’s go a different way. Pick: Stephanie Vaquer at Money in the Bank later in the night
Cain A. Knight: Roxanne Perez will cash in on Liv Morgan as part of a big blowup with the Judgment Day at a major event. In fact, maybe the biggest show of the year. Pick: Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 43
Marcus Benjamin: I’m with Cain. She cashes in on Liv Morgan at Mania and finally ends the Judgment Day for good. Pick: Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 43
Jon Velez-Jackson: WWE seems really intent on keeping the Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan feud going, so I think the MITB will be used for Green, who is currently in a dance with Nikki Bella that no one cares about. Pick: Chelsea Green at Survivor Series
Josh Jagler: I think Roxanne winning the briefcase will lead to some quick tension in Judgment Day. I’m picturing the two Evolution ‘thumbs-down’ situations: one, when Randy Orton won the World Title, and the other, when Batista won the Royal Rumble and chose to face Triple H instead of JBL at WrestleMania 21. Which route they take will depend on who wins the Women’s World Title on Saturday. My gut says Liv eventually wins the title back and Roxanne cashes in on her, but it’ll take a few months to get there. Pick: Liv Morgan at Royal Rumble
Matt Warren: Since I picked Perez, there are two paths here with a quick change or a long-simmering road that leads to a double-cross. I think the WWE uses the same night switch too often and they’ve sprinkled in the next night Raw, too, so I want to swerve that a bit but still keep it quick AND provide the double-cross shock moment. Pick: Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel after Morgan wins the Crown Jewel Championship
Will their cash-in be successful?
Geno Mrosko: Isn’t it always? Pick: Successful cash in
Sean Rueter: For my little scheme to work, she has to. Pick: Yep
Kyle Decker: Lash is too much of a big deal to be the first woman to lose the cash in. Pick: Successful cash in
Claire Elizabeth: Now here’s the rub, and why I zagged last pick— I am imagining Liv gritting her teeth while Roxanne! talks about Judgment Day being a family and a title for one is a title for all and all that jazz and I am delighted. Pick: Successful cash-in
Cain A. Knight: Roman Reigns isn’t the champion being cashed in on, so I don’t think we’re getting an Ausin Theory style dud here. Pick: Yes
Marcus Benjamin: Yes. No explanation needed. I said what I said. Pick: Yes
Jon Velez-Jackson: I really hope not. Chelsea Green has proven she can be one of the top faces for WWE, even with the company dragging their feet with her. Plus, Tiffany — and this is not a knock on her as a competitor or as a star — didn’t make much impact the last time she held the top belt. Pick: No, not successful
Josh Jagler: I am unfortunately stuck with a sinking feeling that this could be the first time the women’s briefcase is cashed in unsuccessfully. If it goes the way I’ve laid out above, it would be Raquel Rodriguez siding with Liv Morgan to prevent Roxanne from winning her first World Title. I hope it doesn’t go that way, but I just can’t shake it. Pick: Unsuccessful, thanks to Raquel Rodriguez
Matt Warren: After Morgan wins the Crown Jewel Championship over Chelsea Green, Perez and Raquel Rodriguez go to congratulate her. (Heck, they are probably the reason she won anyway.) Perez brings the briefcase and makes like she is going to cash in on the already defeated Green. Then we get the big double-cross with Perez sending Rodriguez out of the ring with a briefcase shot to the head and hitting Morgan. Perez has turned on Judgement Day. Pick: Successful
