Watch: Taylor Frankie Paul Hints at ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Exit
The Mormon Wives are a major crossroads.
But Layla Taylor is confident MomTok will survive its most fractious period yet, which most recently included Mikayla Matthews shocked fans by announcing her exit from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives amid a bitter feud with Taylor Frankie Paul.
“For the women that are still involved, [we’re] strong,” Layla told E! News in an exclusive interview during Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea Awards 2026 at New York City’s Edison Ballroom on Sept. 6. “You’ll see a lot of a healthy dynamic in season six and I’m excited for the audience see that.”
But as the dust continues to settle following the recent cast shakeup, the 25-year-old is simply “hoping for the best” despite the drama.
“Right now, I’m just day by day,” the TikToker confessed. “This is obviously such a hard experience and everything that’s been happening has been very hard to navigate.”
That said, when it comes to her own friendship with Taylor, Layla—who shares two young kids with ex Clayton Wessel—is firm on whether there is a path forward for her and Taylor.
“No,” she explained. “I think for me personally, the behaviors in her relationship were hard to watch, and then she started to be hateful towards me and my friends and say some really harmful things.”
Indeed, Taylor’s dynamic with many of her costars has remained fraught over the last several months, as she and ex Dakota Mortenson have continued their legal battle over custody of their 2-year-old son. (The pair have both also leveled domestic violence allegations, though no charges were ultimately filed.)
Still, Layla holds no ill will towards her former BFF.
“I wish her well,” she told E!, adding, “but I think personally for me and my mental health, I need to take a step back.”

Miranda Hope echoed Layla in promising fans the cast can mend their strained friendships and group fractures.
“When is there not a few shakeups in MomTok?” the 28-year-old jokingly quipped to E! on the Virtual Reali-Tea Awards red carpet. “Right now, we’re all figuring out a new way to navigate things. I think that’s the nature of life, sometimes you gotta strip it all and get back to the drawing board.”
Still, Miranda promised, “I definitely think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”
