Watch: Jelly Roll and Wife Bunnie Xo Break Up, Divorcing After Nearly 10 Years
Motherhood hadBunnie Xo smiling so much.
Three months before Jelly Rollfiled for divorce from the Dumb Blonde podcast host, she revealed that they had been exploring surrogacy and in vitro fertilization (IVF) to grow their family.
“It’s going to be a hard journey,” Bunnie (real name Alisa DeFord) told E! News in February. “I’ve actually really kept it close to my chest because you know how the world is.”
“I have dropped bits and pieces of it,” she continued. “I can’t wait to share with the world our journey but it’s gonna be a while before I open up.”
Although the 46-year-old shared that she and Jelly Roll were ready to welcome a new member to their family, being stepmom to kids Bailee, 17, and Noah, 9, from the “Wild Ones” singer’s previous marriages had been a pitch-perfect step into parenthood.
“Raising Bailee has shown me that I can do this,” she explained. “I might not be her birth mother, but that’s my baby. She’s about to go to college. She has a 4.0 grade point average. She’s such a smart kid and it just gave me the confidence to know, like, ‘Hey, maybe I can do this.'”
So, she brought up the idea with Jelly Roll, who—according to court documents obtained by E! News June 15—filed for divorce May 18.
“I went to my husband one day and I was just like, ‘Do you have a baby?'” Bunnie recalled. “He was like, ‘Yes, I’d like two.’ I couldn’t believe that. He wanted to have babies, too. He added the ‘two’ on because he doesn’t want the single one to grow up with only child syndrome.”
With Bailee not growing up surrounded by siblings, they emphasized the importance of those bonds.
“You also need a built-in best friend,” she explained. “We’ve kind of raised Bailee as an only child. It was hard getting her to go outside and play with friends and get off the computer screen.”
When it came to motherhood, Bunnie was looking forward to exploring the new chapter in her and Jelly Roll’s lives.

“I’ve never gotten to experience motherhood from any standpoint, except for what I have with Bailee,” she shared, “but from the baby stage, I’ve never got to experience that. Neither has my husband because he hasn’t been with the women that he had babies with. So, he got to miss out on a lot of the baby moments.”
As for what she envisioned when welcoming a child?
“What these babies are going to get from J and I is more childlike parents because when we had Bailey, we were both getting sober,” Bunnie explained. “We were evolving. We were growing. We grew with Bailee.”
“This next set of children for us are gonna get the kid versions of us,” she concluded. “We’re going to get to live our childhoods through them, so we’re really excited about that.”
E! News has reached out to Bunnie and Jelly Roll for comment on the divorce filing and has not yet heard back.

And they remain committed to each other.”Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life,” Bunnie wrote on TikTok in February 2023. “We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground. I yuh you so mushhh.”
