Watch: What Bunnie Xo Said About Having Kids With Jelly Roll Before Breakup
Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO haven’t been taking the lonely road for long.
The country music star filed for divorce from the Dumb Blonde podcast host May 18, just days after the pair’s separation, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.
In his petition, Jelly Roll, 41, listed the couple’s date of marriage as August 30, 2016, while noting the date of separation as May 9, 2026, which is less than two weeks before he filed for divorce.
The “Son Of A Sinner” singer—dad to kids Bailee, 17, and Noah, 9, from previous marriages—cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.
Though neither has commented publicly on the split, Bunnie (real name Alisa DeFord) posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Story hours before news broke of the breakup.
Alongside a snap of her from a boudoir photo shoot, she wrote, “She’s getting her sparkle back.”
Earlier that day, the 46-year-old also lip-synced to Nickelback‘s single “How You Remind Me” in a TikTok video.
“It’s not like you to say ‘Sorry’ / I was waiting on a different story,” she mouthed along to the song June 15. “This time, I’m mistaken / For handing you a heart worth breaking.”
E! News previously reached out to Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s reps for comment but hasn’t heard back.

The pair’s shocking split comes three months after Bunnie released her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, in which she detailed her relationship with the Jelly Roll (born Jason DeFord).
“J wasn’t the man he is today back in 2015,” she wrote, “when we met, and a year later, he was still bouncing couch to couch and living in his brown van, Bertha.”
Despite the van being littered with “condoms, crumbs and trash,” Bunnie fell for him. As she put it, “But dirty van and all, our connection felt spiritual.”
The pair also had plans to expand their family.

“Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future—including growing our family,” she wrote. “J and I have a surrogate, the sweetest woman ever, and soon I’ll be starting my IVF stims.”
Though Bunnie admitted he excitement with growing her and Jelly Roll’s family, she also shared her pre-baby jitters.
“I’ve waited this long to have kids with someone I knew would be a great father,” she said. “and to be able to make sure they have the best life.”
“We’re going to raise these babies in love and give them everything we were never given,” she continued. “I can’t wait to see a piece of me and him running around outside of our bodies.”

And they remain committed to each other.”Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life,” Bunnie wrote on TikTok in February 2023. “We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground. I yuh you so mushhh.”
