Hopefully by now you’ve seen Zelda: Ocarina of Time in action on the Switch 2, and if you’re anything like us, you were quite simply blown away by the sheer leap in visual quality when compared to the original.

To really demonstrate just how much the remake improves upon the N64 game, the lovely chaps over at GVG have provided a side-by-side comparison of the two games. Essentially, the same footage from Eiji Aonuma’s gameplay demonstration is shown, but with similar footage from the N64 original playing next to it.

The differences are simply phenomenal, from the small details on Link’s tunic to the stunning environmental design, this is looking to be a significant revamp. That said, it definitely looks to be a 1:1 remake at its core, so don’t expect any major changes to the gameplay or structure.

Nintendo confirmed that Ocarina of Time will launch on the Switch 2 on 5th November 2026, with a special edition console and pro controller releasing at the end of October.
