Download ’em all

Capcom is launching three modern Resident Evil remakes on the Switch 2 later this week on 16th October, and if you’re keen to download all of them, then you’ll be pleased to know that they won’t take up too much space on your console and/or SD Express card.
As per the eShop listings, the three entries will take up the following space:
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition – 14.0GB
- Resident Evil 3 – 12.9GB
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition – 29.0GB
It’s no surprise that Resident Evil 3 is the smallest of the three. The campaign is comfortably the shortest of the lot, and it doesn’t contain any substantial bonus modes. On the flip side, Resident Evil 4 is a pretty sizeable campaign encompassing multiple unique environments. On top of that, you’ve also got the Separate Ways campaign and The Mercenaries mode, so this explains its chunkier size.

Still, you’re looking at 55.9GB for all three titles, which isn’t bad at all. Capcom is clearly pretty adept at optimising its games for the system at this point, and even Requiem was only 28.7GB. Hell, the total storage space makes the trilogy the perfect candidate for a proper physical collection, right? Right..?! Don’t answer that.
Truth be told, beyond a January 2027 release window for a retail launch, we don’t know what form it will take, though history indicates that it will likely be Game-Key Card. So if you want them on day one, you’ll have to download them from the eShop.
