Following Sunday’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event, Tony Khan addressed Ricochet’s recent controversy involving a social media post directed at a fan with multiple sclerosis.

According to the AEW president, he had a “good conversation” with the wrestler, during which he informed him that the post had violated company policy.

The backlash against Ricochet began last month soon after his loss of the AEW National Championship in a Blackjack Battle Royal at Revolution. The following day, AEW posted a clip on X (Twitter) of Ricochet destroying a backstage area after his defeat, and an X user who goes be the name Sandi T. posted in the comments: “His acting hasn’t improved.”

The insulting observation resulted in Ricochet going after Sandi T., whose X bio mentions her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).

“I’m glad you got MS,” Ricochet wrote in response to her comment.

Sandi T. wrote back: “Well if that makes you happy have a great life …”

Ricochet’s post generated considerable outrage, with many fans noting they’ve known loved ones who’ve suffered from MS.

He soon deleted his comment to Sandi T. and initially posted a defense that attacked fans for negative comments made about him and his wife, Samantha Irvin. However, he issued a formal apology on the following evening.

“I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize,” Ricochet posted on X. “Moving forward I’ll do better.”

His statement was met received a mixed reaction with some fans applauding him for apologizing, while others claimed he seemed insincere

After the conclusion of AEW Dynasty—during which Ricochet defeated a returning Chris Jericho—Khan held his usual media scrum, and he was asked by Joel Pearl of Fightful’s In The Weeds if he had spoken to the star and if the comment ran afoul AEW’s social media policy.

“I did, and I had a conversation with him. I have a good conversation and a frank talk. That was not acceptable, and I think that was communicated,” Khan answered.

He continued: “We have a policy and continues to be a policy in place for such things, and that violated it. There is no place for that in wrestling or anywhere. I do appreciate you asking, and we’ve tried to move past that, but thank you for asking.”

What do you think? Are you ready to move past Ricochet’s MS tweet? Let us know in the comments.
