Taylor Frankie Paul is telling her side of the story.

After documents were leaked after being filed by Utah’s Department of Children and Family Services asking a court to find that her three children are “abused, neglected or dependent,” per People and TMZ who obtained the docs, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star took a moment to address concerns raised in a social media video.

First, Taylor alleged there is “a lot of false information out there,” noting that as she lived though all the events in the documents, she hasn’t felt a need to read them in full.

“So, if there’s something way off or misconstrued, that is something I’m taking up with my attorneys, and that will be handled in the courtroom,” she added in her July 19 Instagram video, before moving to the discussion of “some facts.”

This includes why she tried to keep the situation out of the public eye.

“I tried to have this sealed from the beginning,” she explained. “It wasn’t in protection of me. But honestly, just to keep it sealed for the children, and again, this was something I asked for and was denied from the beginning.”

The 32-year-old—who shares a 2-year-old son with ex Dakota Mortensen as well as an 8-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son with ex-husband Tate Paul—noted that while legal processes such as these “don’t happen overnight,” she’s made “a lot of progress in the court room.”

In addition to sharing that at the time of posting, she had her toddler with her “for the longest period” since Mortensen was awarded full custody this spring, totaling five days, she questioned the timing of the leaked documents for while her son was with her.

As for the specific allegations in the documents—including that she didn’t take her therapy appointments seriously—Taylor refuted the claims.

“I’m a huge advocate for mental health,” she noted, saying her first therapist simply wasn’t a fit. “I do have a certified therapist. I have a life coach, so there are two other people that helped me in my life immensely.”

She also clapped back at claims she’s made her daughter take on too much responsibility in the care of her younger siblings.

“Not once have I forced or made my daughter change diapers,” the Bachelorette alum noted. “If she ever wanted to, I let her likes to help. She’s in that phase of like mommy’s help or wanting to do like the diaper bags changing. If that is bad on me, then so be it.”

As for an alleged moment of heightened emotions during an at-home visit shared he perspective. “I do remember that day specifically, and I was emotional, and I was like, ‘Let me take a step outside,’” she recalled. “And so I went to go take a breather, which I think would be the correct thing to do to de-escalate emotions.”

And while she noted she’s aware she may not “sway anyone” with her video, the reality start feels confidently about her relationship with her children.

“I can confidently say,” she added, “if you were to put any of my children up on stand, they are choosing mom and mom’s house every time, and I say that with full confidence because I love my children.”

March 20, 2026: Dakota Mortensen Granted Temporary Custody of SonMortensen was awarded temporary custody of their son after filing for a protective order against Paul, according to documents obtained by People March 20. A hearing in the matter was scheduled for April 7—where Taylor would be allowed to speak and share her side—but until then, the order stated that “no parent time is allowed,” per the outlet.

March 24, 2026: Third Police InvestigationAuthorities in Utah began investigating another alleged domestic violence incident that took place in 2024 which Mortensen brought to the police’s attention in February, a West Jordan Police Department spokesperson told NBC News March 24. While investigators spoke to Paul’s attorney, they had not yet spoken to her directly, and hoped for her to submit a written statement or be interviewed to corroborate details of Mortensen’s report, per the spokesperson.

April 14, 2026: Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office Announced It Would Not File New Charges Against Taylor Frankie PaulA week after Paul was granted supervised visitation with her and Mortensen’s son during an April 7 court hearing, The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release it would not be filing charges against her after two separate investigations led by the Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.According to the outlet, the news release noted, “Due to the high profile of the defendant, the cases were reviewed by multiple attorneys.”
