Watch: Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Prison Release Date Moved Up After Prison Fight
Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ prison time has been extended.
The rapper’s release date was pushed back from Jan. 21, 2028 to March 8, 2028, according to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) records viewed by E! News.
The date change comes after NBC News published a report claiming that Combsâwho is currently serving time for prostitution-related charges at FCI Fort Dix in New Jerseyâhas paid thousands of dollars to his fellow inmates for access to contrabands such as Hennessy cognac and cellphones.
The report also alleged that Combs has inmates cook and clean for him, as well as a man who give him “Chinese-style massages.”
Combsâ rep had no comment about the prison date when contacted by E! News.
In response to reports about his life behind bars, Combs’ reps Juda Engelmayer told Oxygen, “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combsâs life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news. The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the courtâs decision on his appeal.â
Meanwhile, BOP officials said they “do not comment on anecdotal allegations,” though they “continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities.”
“Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge,” the department said in a statement to Oxygen. “We are fully committed to safeguarding everyone in our custody and to maintaining the safety and security of our correctional staff and surrounding communities. To this end, we operate under a controlled environment that is both secure and humane.”

“Additionally, based on the need to ensure safety and security in our institutions and in accordance with privacy concerns, we do not discuss potential allegations of staff misconduct, nor do we confirm or deny the existence of a corresponding investigation,” the BOP added. “However, we generally can tell you that allegations of staff misconduct are taken seriously and, consistent with national policy, referred for investigation if warranted.”
Combs’ release date has been updated multiple times since his initial sentencing in September 2025, when a judge ordered him to spend 50 months behind bars.
