Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again closer to being released from prison.
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by Page Six, the disgraced music mogul’s release date from FCI Fort Dix now falls on Jan. 21, 2028. TMZ was the first to report the news on Tuesday.
Page Six confirmed earlier this month that the rapper’s release date would be Feb. 5, 2028.
Prior to that, Combs’ release date was moved up by several weeks from Feb. 23, 2028, to Jan. 24, 2028 — despite the rapper’s July brawl with another inmate and subsequent stint in solitary confinement.
Earlier this month, however, the date appeared to have been pushed back to Feb. 20, 2028. His original release date was set for June 2028.
According to TMZ, the Grammy winner was involved in an altercation over the summer, taking “matters into his own hands” after being insulted.
Per multiple sources for the outlet, the two prisoners pushed each other during the alleged encounter.
The “Mo Money Mo Problems” rapper was said by an insider to have “held his own” during the incident, after which prison staff separated them.
Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement and later released, TMZ reported in August.
At the time, the Federal Bureau of Prisons told Page Six in a statement, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions.”
Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025, but found not guilty on two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and on racketeering conspiracy.
The “Bad Boy For Life” hitmaker was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, to Fort Dix in New Jersey after being sentenced to 50 months in prison.
He’s strenuously denied wrongdoing, despite multiple ongoing lawsuits accusing him of a range of misdeeds.
Lawyers for Combs, meanwhile, dropped the fashion designer earlier this month in his $100 million defamation lawsuit against NewsNation and others.
In documents exclusively obtained by Page Six, attorney Michael Tremonte of law firm Sher Tremonte alleged Combs “has not paid a substantial balance of attorney’s fees, costs, and expenses” and that for six months has been “in substantial arrears in paying Sher Tremonte’s legal fees.”
The docs also accused the rap star of failing to adequately participate in his own case, rendering their representation “unreasonably difficult.”
They cited “Mr. Combs’s lack of cooperation and communication” in an alleged “breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.”
“Mr. Combs has declined to make himself available for timely, substantive, and direct communications about his cases for over four months,” the docs claimed.
Combs, meanwhile, pushed back in a statement to Page Six, saying he “made the decision to switch lawyers because I won’t let anyone take advantage of me by overcharging me and running up bills that were never approved.”
He added, “This is strictly a business matter, and any talk about unpaid fees is just part of our dispute over those unapproved charges.”
Tremonte again claimed they’re “withdrawing from representing him because he has not paid his long-overdue invoices and has become uncooperative” and called his accusation of being overcharged “simply false.”
