Rob Gronkowski is helping Tom Brady tackle single life.

That’s why the retired NFL tight end was more than ready to list a few notable personality traits he would want a partner of his former New England Patriots teammate to have. 

“It’s about to get messy,” the New York native joked on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle Sept. 24 before describing Brady’s ideal match. “Sweet. They got a great soul. Very positive energy.” 

The 37-year-old—who is set to join the former quarterback in the Patriots Hall of Fame in November—went on to joke that Brady’s future soulmate after his divorce from ex Gisele Bündchen was starting to sound a lot like Gronkowski’s mom, Diane Gronkowski-Walters, a.k.a. Mama Gronk. 

“Someone like my mother,” he told co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Justin Sylvester, quipping, “Not my mom, but someone like my mom. She would be like, ‘That’s the best birthday present ever!'”

And the football star has experience when it comes to finding love, as he’s been dating girlfriend Camille Kostek since 2013.

Still, as for when he plans to get down on one knee to propose to his longtime partner, Gronkowski teased, “You can’t put me on the spot like that.” 

Indeed, Gronkowski has remained close to Brady and his family after playing together for 11 seasons for the Patriots and Buccaneers. And while Brady—dad to kids Benjamin, 16, and Vivian,13, with Bündchen, in addition to son Jack, 19, with ex Bridget Moynahan—may still be searching for his perfect romantic match, he already has built-in travel buddies in his three kids.

“A week in Alaska with my three best friends,” the sports commentator gushed alongside a carousel of snaps from their summer vacation July 28. “The trip of a lifetime.”
