Athena is set to defend the ROH Women’s World Championship in Survival of the Fittest at Supercard of Honor on May 15. CMLL women’s world champion Persephone qualified to compete for the title along with Billie Starkz, Maya World, Trish Adora, and Yuka Sakazaki to complete the six-pack field. However, the card is subject to change, and that it did. Persephone has been pulled from the PPV.
Last week, Persephone competed in a tag team match with Alex Windsor against Thekla and Skye Blue. Julia Hart interfered by spitting black mist into the face of Persephone.

Tony Khan broke the ROH news on social media on Saturday night (May 2, 2026). Khan stated that Persephone suffered an injury due to black mist, so she will not be able to compete at ROH Supercard of Honor, AEW, or CMLL.

It’s unclear at this moment what the actual situation is with Persephone. It could be a real injury, a storyline injury, or a storyline injury covering for a real injury.
Several sites, such as Diva Dirt, are reporting that the backup plan is for the winner of Zayda Steel versus Hyan to replace Persephone in Survival of the Fittest.
The updated lineup for ROH Supercard of Honor includes:
- ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Billie Starkz vs. Maya World vs. Trish Adora vs. Yuka Sakazaki vs. TBD in Survival of the Fittest
- ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Blake Christian
- ROH Women’s Pure Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Diamante
- Nigel McGuinness vs. Josh Woods in Pure rules
