“Tickets sold anywhere else are not valid”
Nintendo has provided a statement warning against the resale and transfer of tickets for the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan.
The company states that it has identified several instances in which individuals who bought tickets through third-party means were not able to enter the museum. It says that tickets can only be obtained through Nintendo directly, and it will cancel any unauthorised purchases without prior notice. If that wasn’t enough, it also says that refunds will not be provided and eligibility to access the museum in the future may also be in jeopardy.
As for those who engage in the reselling of museum tickets, Nintendo states that it will take “appropriate action” should it discover who’s doing it:
“Please note that if we identify any prohibited resale activity, we may take appropriate action against those engaged in the resale in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Note that anyone who continues to resell tickets knowing that they cannot be redeemed may be subject to criminal liability for fraud.”
So yes, if you’re thinking about attending the Nintendo Museum in the future, make sure you only secure your tickets through the official means. Obviously, Nintendo’s policy of selling tickets via a random draw could be a bit frustrating, as you’re not guaranteed to obtain a ticket, but using third-party sellers simply isn’t worth the hassle.
