Nic Vansteenberghe is giving an update on his love life beyond the villa.

One day after the Love Island USA star reunited with his ex Olandria Carthen at Jordyn Woods and Karl Anthony-Towns’ wedding, he shared whether he and Carthen have rekindled their romance in the weeks since their breakup.

“I would love to tell you guys, but I’m going to keep that private for now,” Vansteenberghe teased while at LIV Beach at the Fountainebleau Las Vegas on Aug. 16, per footage shot by @jpasc24. “We did enjoy ourselves tremendously at Karl and Jordyn’s wedding last night. It was amazing.”

Though the Love Island USA season seven runners-up called it quits last month after over a year together, Vansteenberghe stressed that exes can “absolutely” remain friends, but on one condition.

“If you end healthily, it’s cool,” he explained. “Sometimes it’s better to maybe not be friends, but in my case, yes. We ended on a good note.”

And while Vansteenberghe admitted that breakups aren’t easy, he’s keeping a positive outlook.

When asked if he has any advice for others navigating a breakup, the 25-year-old shared, “Things will always get better. It’s rock bottom, but it’s about the climb.”

Yet, Vansteenberghe wouldn’t go as far as to say that he’s enjoying the single life just yet. As he emphasized, “It’s a bit soon.”

The reality star’s latest comments come just three weeks after he confirmed his breakup with Carthen.

“The rumors are true,” Vansteenberghe wrote on July 26 in a subscribers-only TikTok. “I didn’t want to give people false hope, so I want to clear the air. We will continue to love each other ALWAYS. It’s a sensitive, as well as a private subject, thank you for respecting our privacy.”

Fans fell in love with the pair—who coupled up after both were set to go home following their eliminations during Casa Amor—as they took their relationship from friends to lovers during season seven of Love Island USA. But as Carthen shared, their connection was there from the beginning.

“Nic and I have always had a thing for each other since day one,” Carthen, 27, told Variety in July 2025. “I kissed him on day one. Just because I didn’t choose to go with him does not mean that spark wasn’t there. It took us some time to get to this point.”

After a short run on Love Island: Games in 2023, he appeared on Love Island: All Stars two years later, where he and Ekin-Su came in third place. However, the two called it quits a few months later.”I wanted to share that Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Ekin-Su announced in a May 2025 Instagram post, per People. “It’s been a really tough decision, but one made with a lot of love and respect for one another,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories. “He’s an incredible person and I’ll always cherish the memories we made both in and out of the villa.”

I think it was brought about more from his behalf than mine, but we’re mutual and friendly,” Demi told MailOnline in June 2020. “With lockdown, it drove us apart and we live so far away from each other. I feel like there wasn’t a lot of effort made with communication, so we drifted as a result.”Luke has since coupled up with season five’s blonde bombshell Lucie Donlan, with the pair confirming their romance in July 2020. They got engaged the following year.As for Demi, she appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024, where she met Luis Morrison. However, they broke up later that year.

Though they sparked engagement rumors in August 2023, when Eva was spotted with a ring on that finger, Nas confirmed in March 2024 that the pair had parted ways.”Unfortunately, Eva and I have decided to end our relationship,” Nas wrote on Instagram Story. “There is no bad blood or wrong doing—it was a mutual and completely amicable decision.”He added, “We tried to work things out over the past couple of months but decided this was for the best, and are both at peace with the situation.”Nas went on to appear on Love Island: All Stars in early 2025, but ultimately left the villas solo.

And that December, she revealed that she and her new husband were expecting a baby girl. Obviously, we’re in the very early stages of this and don’t have any further comment at this time.”
