“New legends. Same Night City.” Dive back in! Netflix has revealed a second teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the next anime series set in the Cyberpunk universe. It’s crazy! Sci-fi anime going all out. The first teaser dropped a full year ago – now they’re finally aiming for a fall 2026 release for this futuristic series. This intense action thriller anime series is set in the world of (the video game) Cyberpunk 2077 – it’s produced by TRIGGER under the supervision of CD Projekt RED. Featuring a bunch of characters from the first series and even more new ones. It’s a continuation of the original Edgerunners anime series which first launched on Netflix in 2022 (watch the trailer). Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will mark the directorial debut of Kai Ikarashi, with Ichigo Kanno as lead character designer, and Bartosz Sztybor back as showrunner on this cyberpunk thriller. A raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter? Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption & revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter? Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, also stylized as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II, is a continuation of sci-fi series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022) inspired by the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Director Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, SSSS.Gridman) brings a bold, cinematic vision to the series, supported by the lead character designer Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). They’re joined by returning collaborators Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare) and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor as the series showrunner, writer, and producer. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is created in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER, with a planned release on Netflix coming up soon.
