Mercedes Mone finally won the AEW women’s world championship by defeating Willow Nightingale on Sunday at All In London. The CEO had her official title celebration on tonight’s (Sept. 2) Dynamite.
Many of the fans were behind Mercedes as she talked up her trailblazing accomplishments in women’s wrestling across major companies around the world. However, she got them booing her again when she dumped on Willow for breaking her nose in the title match. Mone revealed what her face looks like now, and some fans actually chanted “You deserve it!”
Former women’s world champion Thekla soon crashed the party from a distance. She talked about the way Mercedes swings that belt between her legs, but nobody swings it bigger than Thekla.
The Toxic Spider also took exception with the way Mercedes stole her “dumb bitch” catchphrase over the last month. Thekla had the line of the segment when she said, “If there’s one thing I hate more than a dumb bitch, it’s another dumb bitch calling other people dumb bitch. You dumb bitch!”
It’s pretty clear this match is happening soon. AEW does have its All Out pay-per-view coming up on Sept. 26 in Chicago, so perhaps that’s where it will go down.
