The That ‘70s Show alum shared that her family recently held a funeral for her brother Brad Prepon, who died unexpectedly last month at the age of 48.

“This past weekend, we laid my brother to rest,” Laura wrote on Instagram Aug. 5 alongside throwback pictures with Brad. “He passed away suddenly from an unknown heart condition—it was a devastating shock.”

While encouraging her followers to “please listen to your instinct” and seek medical help if it seems “something may be off,” the 46-year-old paid tribute to her sibling.

“For those of you who knew Brad, I’m so happy he touched your lives,” she continued. “For those who didn’t, we lost a singular, beautiful, inimitable force. I will miss my brother every day, and carry him in my heart always.”

The Orange Is the New Blackactress added, “Hug the ones you love.”

After Brad moved to California in 2002, he remained close with Laura and their three other sisters until his July 15 death, according to his obituary. Throughout his life, he pursued his passions of world history and tennis.

“He possessed an insatiable curiosity and was constantly studying and expanding his knowledge, with a particular interest in World War II,” his obituary read. “He had the kind of mind that was always working…precise, analytical, and naturally drawn to understanding how things were designed and constructed.”

And while health and fitness “were paramount” to Brad, he “cherished” spending time with his family.

“He loved the tradition of holiday gatherings, time with his sisters, and friends,” the obituary continued. “He especially enjoyed the energy of a night on the town. Brad loved great food, great music, and a fun party. His unique personality and unmistakable presence made him someone people noticed and would not soon forget.”

And in the end, Brad’s family emphasized that he “will be remembered through the qualities that made him uniquely himself.”

“He was a singular, inimitable force, who touched the hearts of many,” the obituary concluded. “He will be truly missed.”
