Watch: Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker Have Rare Red Carpet Date Night
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are opening up about a heartbreaking moment in their relationship.
Nearly three years after the couple welcomed their baby boy Rocky, they detailed their difficult road to baby, including pregnancy loss.
In Travis’ upcoming documentary Travis Barker: Love is Louder Than Fear, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in New York June 13, the couple shared they got pregnant six months after they began dating in 2021. At the time, the pair were expecting a baby girl, and had planned to name her Tulip.
Unfortunately, at the couple’s three-month appointment, they were informed their baby no longer had a heartbeat.
“When we lost the baby, we were devastated,” Kardashian said in the documentary, which releases on Hulu August 13. “We cried for days.”
Kourtney and the Blink-182 drummer—who coparent Kourtney’s kids Mason Disick, 16, Penelope Disick, 13, and Reign Disick, 11, whom she shares with ex Scott Disick, as well as Travis’ kids Atiana De La Hoya, 27, Landon Barker, 22, Alabama Barker, 20, with ex Shanna Moakler—have been open about their rollercoaster fertility journey.
“I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals) my body relaxed and I believed in God’s plan for my life,” Kourtney shared in an Instagram Story in 2024. “Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us. Also lots of optimizing my health. I know how hard it is to feel like you’re not trying, but believing in God’s plan and saying your prayers is so powerful. All the best.”
But while the couple attempted IVF to welcome their now-2-year-old, Kourtney shared at the time, “I got pregnant 100% naturally, NOT through IVF…one year after stopping IVF actually.”

However, the Kardashians staradmitted that prior to conceiving Rocky naturally, she felt that IVF was “almost a non-choice.”
“I was pushed towards it as if it were the only option,” Kourtney told Vanity Fair Italia in 2023, shortly before giving birth to Rocky. “The truth is, I felt like I was doing something that wasn’t right for me. My intuition was telling me that it wasn’t suitable for me—I don’t even take medicine, imagine—that it was working against my body rather than for it.”
As she put it, “When we stopped forcing the process, then it happened.”
