Watch: Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Why She “Can’t” Get Buccal Fat Removal

Jennifer Lawrence may actually have some hard feelings about recent beauty trends.

The No Hard Feelings actress candidly reflected on the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone, but admitted she “can’t really get very much done” because, as she put it, “I need to have movement in my face.”

“I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot,” Lawrence told Vogue in an interview published Sept. 3. “If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.”

Still, there’s one procedure the 36-year-old—mom to two sons with husband Cooke Maroney—wishes she could take the plunge on.

“I would love to have a buccal fat removal,” she added of the minor plastic surgery, where fat pads are removed from the lower cheeks for a slimmer look. “I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that.”

As for one viral trend that the Oscar winner is scared of?

“Oh, I’m really nervous about these fat transfers,” she noted. “I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that.”

And it’s not just going under the knife that has her worried—she also wouldn’t volunteer as tribute to head to the beauty salon either.

“I hate getting my hair colored,” she said. “I also hate going to the nail salon. I saw a tweet that was like, ‘It’s like going to the hand dentist.’ It’s not relaxing. It’s not fun. It’s really, really boring. It takes so long.”

But Lawrence does “believe in facials” and trying out unconventional trends she finds online. In fact, she’s now a strong believer in putting diaper cream on her face at night.

“When you’re going up on retinol and your face gets red,” she explained, “sleeping in the Desitin [diaper cream], I noticed that it did make my pores smaller and it healed the redness.”

And when it comes to UV protection from the sun, Lawrence has a few tricks in her playbook.

“I’ve been wearing a scarf over my melasma spots ever since I started Tret [retinol oil],” she said. “Of course I get photographed and people think I’m making some sort of fashion statement. I’m literally just haggard and scaling and trying to survive.”
