“You never hike alone!” Impractical Studios has revealed the official trailer for a freaky new horror thriller movie called Don’t Move, a creature feature with some wacky comedy thrown in. Set to open in theaters starting in September – not to be confused with the other Netflix horror movie Don’t Move. Don’t Move is about a prehistoric arachnid that terrifies a group of campers who hike into the wrong woods. Based on the spine-tingling horror novel from the actor best known as “Murr” starring on TV’s Impractical Jokers. The story follows a church group on a retreat who end up lost in an old forest and encounter this gigantic hairy, scary spider monster. But it’s not just another “big spider” movie, it’s playing this out like the spider is really an old dinosaur – because it hunts by vibration. The Don’t Move cast includes Lyndsy Fonseca, Russell “Russ” Vitale, Tom Cavanagh, Rob Riggle, Hunter King, Joseph Lee Anderson, T-Pain, Brian “Q” Quinn, Matt Biedel. Aside from this trailer never having a single clear shot of this arachnid creature (only on the poster), the tone is completely weird and entirely off. And why use “I Think We’re Alone Now” in a trailer for a scary creature horror movie? Yeah I don’t think this is going to be any good. Your thoughts?
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Maclain Nelson’s horror movie Don’t Move, from YouTube:

🕷️ A church group’s annual retreat turns deadly when they wander right into the wrong part of the Ozark wilderness, and something starts picking them off one by one. Suspicion at first falls upon Ricky (Russell “Russ” Vitale), the troublemaker of the group. But the real threat is far worse. Deep in the forest, wrapped in a labyrinth of webs, the group is pursued by a terrifying prehistoric arachnid that hunts by vibration. When every step could be their last, they only have one choice: Don’t Move. It is up to Megan (Lyndsy Fonseca) to hold what’s left of the group together and get them out alive. Don’t Move is directed by the filmmaker Maclain Nelson, director of the films Vamp U, Once I Was a Beehive, Dudes & Dragons, and tons of other TV movies previously. The screenplay is written by James Murray, Maclain Nelson, Darren Wearmouth. Produced by Ethan Jack Berman, James Murray, and David M. Wulf. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Impractical Studios debuts Nelson’s Don’t Move horror movie in select US theaters starting September 11th, 2026 coming up.
