“I am the best editor in history!” Studiocanal and Netflix have revealed the first teaser trailer for the movie Ink, the new Danny Boyle movie about the creation of the UK tabloid The Sun. The film is also premiering today at the 2026 Venice Film Festival in Italy as the Opening Night debut to kick off the fest and begin the first screening. Set in 1969, the rising media tycoon Rupert Murdoch acquires the daily newspaper The Sun in the UK, and his partnership with young editor Larry Lamb turns the paper into Britain’s most influential tabloid. The film stars Jack O’Connell as Larry Lamb, Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch, and Claire Foy as Jules Davies from The Sun, along with Blake Harrison, Patrick Kennedy, Angus Imrie, and Brian Gleeson. Boyle explains more: “these two men created a new tabloid that, against all the odds, became the biggest-selling newspaper in the world. Cheeky, irreverent, daring: the ‘super soaraway’ Sun challenged the establishment and remade our world for the modern era.” This looks like a grungy whirlwind voyage back to the 70s reminiscent of The Wolf of Wall Street watching these guys turn real news into useless dribble just to sell more papers. “Any scandal is fair game.” This is one wild teaser that will get your attention!
