“I’ll give you one night… to show me if you can inhabit the mind of a killer.” Bleecker Street has revealed the first official trailer for the film titled A Talent for Murder, the latest feature directed by photographer / filmmaker Anton Corbijn. It’s his first brand enw narrative feature since making Life way back in 2015, and his latest since the doc Squaring the Circle: The Story of Hipgnosis back in 2023. Though he has been making more music videos recently as well. This smoldering chamber thriller from director Anton Corbijn stars Oscar winner Helen Mirren + Alden Ehrenreich as opponents in a strange confrontation between a youthful literary agent and The Talented Mr. Ripley author Patricia Highsmith. A young man travels from New York to Switzerland to try to persuade acclaimed thriller writer Patricia Highsmith to write one final installment of her Tom Ripley series, with his efforts gradually turning more sinister. Along with Mirren & Ehrenreich, this also stars Olivia Cooke & Juliet Stevenson. Premiering at TIFF this fall then in theaters starting in October. This looks quite sneaky & tricky! But it also looks like an easy direct-to-streaming film.
