When Fabian Aichner debuted in TNA, it was clear that the X-Division Championship was his first goal. Business picked up against current champion Cedric Alexander, then that story took a side quest for Ultimate X at Slammiversary. On the fallout episode of Impact (July 2, 2026), Aichner is back on track and one step closer to winning a title in TNA. Aichner beat five other men in a six-way match to become #1 contender for the X-Division Championship.
The action was wild and woolly between Aichner, Rich Swann, BDE, Mr. Elegance, Home Town Man, and Jason Hotch. The coolest spot was a powerbomb base from Hotch grabbing Mr. Elegance on a super German suplex tossing Swann for a splash onto Aichner on the mat.
The finish was a barrage of maneuvers. Hotch kicked Home Town Man out of the ring. Swann surprised Hotch with a handspring cutter. Mr. Elegance executed his finisher on Swann. BDE flew in for a frog splash on Mr. Elegance. Aichner smashed BDE on a powerbomb to win.
Aichner earned a shot at Alexander for the X-Division Championship. That match is tough to predict. Aichner still has the excitement from his debut on his side, so crowning him champion would shake things up in a good way. Alexander won the X-Division title to stop Leon Slater from breaking the longest reign record, and that feud appears to be going strong still. From a storyline perspective, TNA could stick with Alexander as champion until Slater gets a one-on-one rematch.
