Watch: Euphoria’s Sam Levinson Reveals Inspiration Behind “Horrific” Season 3 Death
Jacob Elordi didn’t try to slither out of this one.
In fact, the Euphoria alum was actually hyped for every horrific incident the show’s creator SamLevinson thought up for his character Nate.
“I think Sam brought me back to torture me,” Elordi joked with costar Colman Domingo, who was in charge of hosting duties for the July 20 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “It was like, six weeks of me just getting beat by a seven-foot guy.”
And when it came time to film his character’s gruesome death—in which Nate was buried alive and died after being bitten by a rattlesnake—the 29-year-old confessed it was quite the experience.
“I got locked in a coffin for two days straight with prosthetics and a fake tongue, and I couldn’t see out of my eyes,” he shared. “And then Sam put snakes into the coffin.”
Shockingly, Elordi “was fine with it,” even as he shared the small space with a boa constrictor, who was playing the role of the rattlesnake in the final episode.
“He had a very nice personality. He was very docile and very sleepy. I don’t think he’d had a lot of sun,” the Oscar nominee recalled of the reptile. “I was kind of nudging him, trying to get him to get active and do the scene, ‘cause he was meant to be threatening. But he was like a little dog. He just kept curling up at my feet.”
“He’d drop down the tube and then he’d sort of slither down,” Elordi added, “and then he’d find a little warm spot.”

Despite the various tortuous situations his character found himself in, Elordi—who’s been spending time with Kendall Jenner in recent months—admitted it was all actually fun.
“You don’t have any lines,” he reasoned. “So you just have to go like, ‘Ahhhhhh!’ That’s all you gotta do. It’s great.”
And while he might not be afraid of torture and snakes, he does have three fears: the dark, dying and—perhaps most shocking for the audience and Domingo—dish water.

“You know when it gets like little bits of pulled chicken in there, a little bit of leftover lentil,” Elordi explained washing dishes. “It’s like lukewarm all the time. There’s nothing you can do about it. You get your fingers in there.”
Just the thought of washing the dishes had the Frankenstein actor getting ready to puke as Domingo demanded to know how that could be scarier than a boa constrictor.
But as Elordi saw it, “You don’t know what’s in that dish water.”
