Watch: NFL Player Charvarius Ward’s 23-Month-Old Daughter Amani Joy Ward Dies
Charvarius Ward’s latest family addition is a total touchdown.
The Indianapolis Colts cornerback and his fiancée MoniqueCookshared that they welcomed their third baby, a boy named Chosen Mani Ward, on Sept. 28.
Cook shared the news on her Instagram Oct. 7, posting several snaps of the newborn, including one of him wearing a blue football-covered onesie embroidered with “baby brother.”
Ward commented on his fiancée’s Instagram post with, “Say Twinnnnn,” and also shared her post to his Instagram Story, set to Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things.”
In addition to their new baby, Ward and Cook are already parents to son Charvarius Ward Jr., 21 months, as well as daughter Amani Joy, who died in 2024at 23 months. And they’ve already found a way to honor their late daughter through her brother’s name.
Chosen’s middle name “Mani” is a variation of Amani Colts reporter Stephen Holderconfirmed the athlete told him.
Cook—who announced her engagement to Ward in July 2025—first shared that she and the NFL star were expecting a new baby in June, posting a photo of her growing bump on Instagram and writing in the caption, “More love. A new addition to the Ward family is on the way!”
The birth of Chosen comes nearly two years after the death of his older sister Amani on Oct. 28, 2024, just three weeks shy of her second birthday.

At the time, Ward, 30, did not detail her cause of death, although he had previously explained that Amani—who was born prematurely and with Trisomy 21, also known as Down syndrome—had heart issues early on in life and had undergone surgery due to repair two holes in her heart.
“She was the best blessing we could have asked for, and her joyous spirit made us smile from ear to ear,” he wrote in a now deleted Instagram post the day after her death, alongside a photo of Amani smiling. “She taught us to have patience, trust, and a positive outlook on life. She showed us true strength and bravery. She overcame adversity at a young age and was always happy, lighting up every room with her smile.”

More recently Ward shared a montage of himself and his baby girl to social media, captioning the June post, “Amani baby I’m still scarred. I’m still hurtin. I still have days where I’m too sad to do anything. Some days I wanna go & find you.”
“I wonder if you knew how much I loved you, how blessed I was to be your father,” he wrote. “I still have your beautiful face painted in my memory. You were my JOY, the reason I smiled. I promise to celebrate you to the day we meet again.”
