The Xbox boss gets a sneak peek behind closed doors
Bethesda is celebrating the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on the Switch 2 this week, but in some surprising news, it’s also found time to showcase The Elder Scrolls VI.
Yes, you read that correctly, this week it’s actually done a “live playthrough” of the next major chapter in the fantasy role-playing series. This update on the long-awaited title, which got an announcement teaser in 2018, was shared by Xbox’s new boss, Asha Sharma.
Unfortunately, it was a playtest behind closed doors, but this is perhaps the most significant update yet. Sharma says the “scale and grandeur are incredible” and claims the “story is even greater”. Bethesda actually responded to this post, mentioning how it was “great” being able to showcase the title and thanking her for visiting.

Asha Sharna: Live playthrough of The Elder Scrolls VI: ******** this morning. The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.
Bethesda: It was great being able to show you ********. Thank you for the kind words and a wonderful visit.
There’s no release date for this game yet, but the anticipated title at least sounds like it’s in a respectable (and playable) state, which is a positive sign.
Apart from Oblivion Remastered, late last year Bethesda also released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary on the Switch 2. A few months later, it added a 60hz mode and additional features in an update.
