Watch: BET Awards 2026: Bow Wow Shares His Proudest Moment as a Dad to Kids Shai and Stone
Bow Wow is Mr. 365 when it comes to his kids.
The 106 & Park alum—dad to daughter Shai, 15, with ex Joie Chavis and son Stone, 6, with ex Olivia Sky—gave a sweet update about his fatherhood journey, sharing the latest moment that made him feel “proud” as a dad.
“My daughter is driving,” Bow Wow (real name is Shad Gregory Moss)told E! News in an exclusive interview at the 2026 BET Awards June 28. “That’s a proud moment right there.”
“Both of them, my son and my daughter, know who dad is,” he continued. “They know what I do. The good thing is that now that they’re of age, I get to bring them along for these moments. Shai is here. She’s in her own glam room. My daughter’s about to come down here and hang out with dad.”
As the rapper—whopreviously dubbed himself “Mr. 106 & Park”—put it, “Even though I’m Bow Wow, Mr. 106, I’m still dad at the same time. I’ll be happy to do them both.
And since Bow Wow grew up in the spotlight, he has strong words of advice for his children, as his daughter is already following in his footsteps. After all, the Like Mike star’s daughter kicked off her acting career in 2021.
“If they want to do it, I would tell them, ‘Just take it easy, don’t trust nobody,'” Bow Wow explained. “It’s gonna be easy for them, because they got me and I’ve done it, so they got kind of like a cheat code. Just be prepared for the peer pressure, the things that come with the game. You’re gonna have people that’s gonna lure you in and try to do different things here and there, and people that’s gonna try to rip you off. It’s a lot of snakes in this business, and just look out for those negative things.”
But the Let Me Hold You artist emphasized that he’ll be there to help his kids navigate the industry.
“That’s what I’m here for: to protect them, guide ’em, and shield ’em from that,” he said, “so those things won’t happen.”

And while Bow Wow is open to the idea of Shai pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, her education is the top priority.
“Right now, school is the most important thing,” he told MadameNoire in a 2022 interview. “I told her she can’t do anything unless those grades are up. I don’t play that and my mother didn’t play that. I’m instilling that in her as well but I’m so proud of her. Just the brightest, smartest little girl a father could have. And I’m just thankful to have her in my life and thankful that she’s my daughter.”
Until Bow Wow’s daughter joins him on the red carpet, read on for more star-studded arrivals at the BET Awards.
