Stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen
Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company have confirmed that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will launch on the Switch 2 this coming Autumn. This follows the game’s launch on other platforms later this month on 25th August 2026.
This follows on from the 2021 original, which saw you and two player-controlled or AI companions take on hordes of Xenomorphs across multiple levels. The upcoming sequel adds another playable character to the mix to bring the total up to 4 members of your squad.
We’re excited for this one, we’re not gonna lie. The original was pretty basic, but it was fun, and it’s a great laugh if you’re a fan of the franchise.
Here’s a look at the official description:
“Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Alien universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens™ experience.”
We’ll have more on Fireteam Elite 2 in the coming weeks as we move closer to its release this Autumn. In the meantime, you can also look forward to a Switch 2 version of Alien: Isolation 2 in 2027, which was announced by Sega and Creative Assembly earlier this year.
