Watch: Sarah Shahi Confirms Breakup with Sex/Life Costar Adam Demos
Adam Demos knows he got lucky when it came to Sex/Life.
The Netflix series—which ran between 2021 and 2023—became a bit of a phenomenon, something the 41-year-old is still grateful for.
“I love that character,” Demos told E! News at the premiere of his new movie Spa Weekend Aug. 7. “I love that show, and the fact that I mean, it really took off too. Fans seemed to love it, and I loved it.”
But despite a loyal fan base still clamoring for more, Demos doesn’t think Sex/Life—which also starred Sarah Shahi, whom Demos dated for five years before their 2025 split—needs to go all the way again.
“I think some things just end,” he continued, “and I think they bookended it pretty well. But yeah, that was a really, really cool opportunity.”
As for his time on the series, which filmed throughout the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Falling Inn Love star has nothing but great memories from his time in Toronto.
Also, “just getting to stretch myself as an actor,” he added. “So, that that show means a lot to me in a lot of ways.”
Demos had a similarly impactful time working on Spa Weekend, which stars comedy powerhouses Anna Faris, Leslie Mann, Michelle Buteau and Isla Fisher.

Noting he’d long been a fan of all his costars, Demos added, “And what I learned is they don’t get to the heights that they got by fluke. They care so much. They’re always trying to make the scene better, and they don’t phone it in whatsoever.”
“It’s like you can’t stop caring, and you’ve really got to,” he added. “And they’re also so collaborative, too. So that’s what I really took away from it. It’s like they never wanted a scene to be mediocre, and they wanted to know everyone’s important. It was really cool to see.”
That ease and dedication was felt by all, with Isla revealing the movie “was so much fun” from the moment they did the table read.
“We all just got along,” she explained. “I’ve known Anna for years, and Leslie and I had made a movie together, and Michelle, I was a fan from afar. But we all just had a natural chemistry, I guess. And we’re all girls, girls. So, there was a lot of like support for each other and like encouragement, and it was really special.”
