Square Enix returns next week with its turn-based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance. Many players have already probably got a good idea about what to expect thanks to the demo, and now the first review has officially gone live.

It once again comes from the famous Japanese outlet, Famitsu. So, what did this publication think of this latest release?

If you’re not already familiar with its unique scoring system, four critics deliver a score out of ten and these scores are then combined. In this case, Final Fantasy Resonance has received 9/9/9/9 from the four reviewers. This gives the title a total score of 36/40. Not bad at all!

We’ve also got some details about the game’s length. The main story is apparently around 20 – 30 hours, and the full game will supposedly take about 70 hours (via Genki_JPN).

If you haven’t already sampled this game, it’s worth noting the demo allows you to transfer your save data to the full version. Final Fantasy Resonance will be released on 22nd October 2026.
