Watch: Travis Barker Reveals Reason Behind Hospitalization in Photo With Kourtney Kardashian
Travis Barker knows health is not a small thing.
That’s why the Blink-182 drummer underwent surgery to address recent numbness in his hand, sharing a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed with his wife Kourtney Kardashian by his side.
“I had surgery yesterday,” Barker captioned the selfie on his Instagram Story Oct. 7. “My arm, hand and fingers have been numb since a show I played last month. I did a nerve test Monday after my show and turns out I needed a cubital tunnel release to fix the nerve.”
The cubital tunnel is a narrow passageway of muscle, bone and ligament located on the inside of the elbow through which the ulnar nerve passes, according to Johns Hopkins. Tingling and numbness in the hands can occur when the ulnar nerve is pinched or damaged.
And for Barker, getting the surgery was vital for his career.
“I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long long time,” he explained. “Should be good in a few weeks.”
The 50-year-old went on to make a joke about his hospital photo with Kardashian, quipping about her smile, “Not sure why my wife looks so happy about this.”
Indeed, Kardashian has been keeping the rocker’s spirits up amid his recovery. On Oct. 6, Barker shared a photo of the Kardashians star, 47, giving him a kiss as she stood by his hospital bed, writing in the caption, âMy beautiful wife by my side.”

Barker’s 20-year-old daughter Alabama Barkerâwho he shares with ex-wife Shanna Moaklerâalso paid him a visit, sitting by his bed as he snapped a picture.
This was not the first time Barker sought surgery for his hand. Back in 2023, he postponed Blink-182’s world tour after dislocating his finger, resulting in torn ligaments that needed to be repaired.
“It was a hard decision to make, but ultimately I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it,” he wrote on Instagram at the time about his procedure. “It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again without fixing the torn ligament surgically.”
