RuneScape: Dragonwilds developer Jagex has officially unveiled its new multi-year roadmap, covering the remainder of 2026 and the plans throughout 2027.

Adventurers can look forward to the next free update “Luminance” this winter, which is a prelude to the Blood Crystal Saga coming in 2027. This will come with additional updates including the introduction of the “Prayer” skill.

“Although Kuldra’s reign has concluded, Ashenfall’s story continues, along with the ongoing call for heroes. Our brave adventurers – that’s you – will now be tasked with protecting Ceridwen and her child, two elves on the run from the merciless bounty hunter, Morwyn.”

Beyond this, there’s the Blood Crystal Saga, starting with Song of Rebellion. Crown of the Night will follow later in the year.

“A fragmented band of Rebel Elves will seek your help to evade the threat of the Nos Clan, who are rising up to jeopardize the peace only now established by in the wake of Kuldra’s death. You’ll be welcomed into the elven city of Ailddinas. A land of towering crystalline spires, intertwined with a vast and mystical forest. However, the city has been corrupted by the Nos Clan, and this corruption has extended into the surrounding woodland.”

“Crown of Night brings more of what you love to the shores and hills of Ashenfall. Something has to be done about the Nos Clan and their expanding influence. More specifically, you will have to do something to end the terror that is the Nos Clan.”

Of course, alongside all of this, expect quest and activity updates, QoL updates, improvements and additional skills. Modding is also on the way, and is planned for the first half of 2027:

“As a first step to building this world together, we aim to unleash the creativity of game makers on Ashenfall by bringing Modding to Dragonwilds, officially. Dedicated creation tools and an in-game mod browser and installer are coming to all platforms.

“Expect this exciting new part of the game to go live in the first half of 2027, coinciding with Song of Rebellion, Secure Servers and Leaderboards.”
