And while it’s “probably too early to tell” if his sons will follow his footsteps into acting, Wilson—who also shares 7-year-old daughter Lyla with Varunie Vongsvirates—did tap into personal experience for his performance in the comedy, which centers on a dad who loses his son at Rolling Loud.

“As a kid going to the fair or Six Flags with your parents, they’d always be like, ‘OK if we get separated, we’re going to meet at the roller coaster,'” he said. “That’s a theme every parent kind of deals with, so this movie just sort of ramps that feeling up to the nth degree.”

Speaking of onscreen parents, the Meet the Parents alum was thrilled about reuniting with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in the upcoming Focker-In-Law, the Fockers franchise’s fourth installment also starring Ariana Grande.

“Being with Ben and De Niro,” Wilson shared, “it was great to think that all these years later, this movie that we did so long ago, people have embraced it in such a great way.”
