“I just want everything to be… like it used to be.” Hulu has revealed their official trailer for a new mystery series titled Phony, created and directed by writer / filmmaker Nick Paley (of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On). A teenage boy wakes up after a car accident convinced that his mother is an impostor. Described as “a cozy small-town mystery with a side of YA sitcom: think Widow’s Bay meets Freaks and Geeks.” Sure, why not. Connie Britton and Sam Nivola star in Hulu’s Phony – ready for streaming in October coming up. A coming-of-age mystery series about a teenager who wakes up in the hospital after a car accident to discover his mom appears to have been replaced by an impostor. So who is this woman and what does she want with him? The full cast includes Meera Syal, Grace Brennan, Mahaela Park, Maliq Johnson, and Colter Lee. It looks pretty wild though is it just another catfish or something else scarier? What happened to her?
