Lionsgate has revealed the first look teaser trailer for Day Drinker, the next new big Hollywood movie starring Johnny Depp making his comeback (following Ebenezer later this year). This one is expected to arrive in theaters in March 2027 next year – a very early first look at this action thriller. The plot details are still very vague. Only saying that: An enigmatic stranger forms an unlikely bond with a grieving bartender on a mega yacht who lost her lover, their lives intertwining in unexpected ways. Starring Johnny Depp, Madelyn Cline & Penélope Cruz, along with Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, Anika Boyle. Is he some kind of John Wick again? This looks so weird so far. Is it a revenge tale? A ghost story? Is he a vampire? A werewolf? None of the above? Why does he have an Irish accent? What is going on in this? I’m not sure & don’t even know if I care to learn. Thoughts?

In the action thriller Day Drinker, a private-yacht bartender (Madelyn Cline) encounters a mysterious, onboard guest (Johnny Depp). But they soon find themselves entangled with a menacing criminal figure (Penélope Cruz) and end up connected in ways no one saw coming. Day Drinker is directed by filmmaker Marc Webb, director of the movies 500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2, Gifted, The Only Living Boy in New York, Snow White, and TV episodes including on “The Code”, “The Society”, “Why Women Kill”, “Just Beyond”, “High Potential” previously. The screenplay is written by Zach Dean (Deadfall, 24 Hours to Live, The Tomorrow War, Fast X, The Gorge, Looking Through Water). It’s poduced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean, Nathan Kahane. Lionsgate debuts Webb’s Day Drinker action thriller in US theaters starting on March 26th, 2027 next year.
